Improvement Era V1

Volume 1 (1897–1898) of the Improvement Era. The inaugural volume of the official magazine of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, launched in November 1897 to replace the earlier periodical The Contributor. Joseph F. Smith — then a counselor in the First Presidency and later President of the Church — served as its first senior editor. This first volume gathers the magazine’s earliest editorials, sermons, doctrinal articles, and church news.
